Empty Bowls - Thank You!

Empty bowls Empty Bowls is a community project to raise money for local hunger prevention efforts.  For $11 you get to choose a bowl created by local potters, community members, and students.  These bowls are each unique and a great keepsake!  You then fill it with soup donated by local restaurants.  The meal includes bread, beverage, and desert. The event also features a raffle, local entertainment, clowns for the children, and a pottery demonstration by a local professional potter.

Additionally the Annual Poverty Prevention Award is presented.

Also money raised from Empty Bowls is available to qualifying Portage County high school seniors as a scholarship. Up to (2) scholarships with an award up to $1000 each will be awarded annually. The scholarship is named for Patrick Cassidy a community volunteer who exemplified community service as part of the original Hunger Prevention Partnership and Empty Bowls committees.

Scholarship applications are available in the Fall after Empty Bowls. Applications are due by March 1st the following year. Applicants are notified if they are selected by mid-May.
